  3. That's a '37 Ford glove box door. Will also fit '38-'39 Ford truck.

  5. Our club, Lost Angels, was started in the mid fifties in the Buffalo, NY area. We started our version in the eighties, I believe. We stole the name, I mean barrowed, from a list of local club names Dennis O'Brien had. One of the club members redid the art work for the jackets and O'Brien Truckers did the plaques. The club broke up after a few years, but I still have my toys.

My dad was in the Rod Benders Cedar Rapids Iowa in the mid to late 1950s. Unfortunately he did not keep any of his Rod Benders' stuff. I was at a car show a few years ago and saw a women walking around wearing this jacket. I asked her about it and found out the jacket belonged to her husband's uncle. The uncle had been in the club with my dad. She was wearing it as it was too small for her husband. Recently I was able to find one of the Rod Benders plaques.

Might I direct us all to this thread started not long ago with some great stuff in it?

In which I posted this jacket...

It seems that I can not find the actual image, but there is a picture in this issue of LIFE magazine with someone wearing a Zadox racing team jacket that is slightly different. I have not been able to find anything about the team and the name itself never turns anything up. I have to assume it was a conglomeration of a few guys names or something.

I have a few more pieces of paraphernalia, but they are not obscure.

@Anderson , my neighbor was an active hot rodder & on Scorpion crew back then. He's sharp as a tack on local hot rod history, I'll ask if he recognizes the name when I see him.

20220208_120948.jpg Here is an old local Tx club plaque I got years ago. looks like it might have been cast in shop class as that Skull design looks pretty damn amatuer...

  14. The BLACK ROAD auto club is still in existence today. Ted and Myself have kind of been grandfathered in, since in 1957 I was 10 and Ted was not born yet. As you can see on the board there were several Boccuzzi's in the original club.

  15. This club is still in business but none of the guys have ever seen one of these (except me). Shirt is almost 60 years old. cc8.jpg

I'll drink to Ryan's comment. He will NEVER be considered a cheap bullshitter.
