Customs 49 Mercury 4-door converison

Hey guys! Not much has changed as the last 6 months I was building another mercury for my buddy!!! I got my 6x2 setup back on the olds motor and it just performs so much better! I had nothing but problems with the dual quads… tried multiple carburetor setups, jet combinations, metering rods, springs, linkages, air cleaners, fuel pressures… you name it I tried it. I bolt the 6x2s back on and set up a initial tune and boy it’s never ran this good in its life… and. I know what you’re thinking but I drove it to Pomona and back from the SFV and around town and still have a little over a half a tank anyways here’s my merc along with the black merc I chopped, added fender flares, flush fit skirts, and the desoto grille, bumper guard twilights, as well as built the entire chassis.

 

Looks great. I have a decent 4 door and a basket case 2 door.
Might actually try to get started this summer.
