Believe it or not the first two photo's posted by Jim are sporting the stock grilles with the exception of the center bullet being removed, it's a minor modification that makes a big difference. HRP
Thanks keep em coming my 54 has the bullet removed. I am looking for inspiration to do something different that is fairly simple.
The first car has the bar narrowed to make a floating bar, with '55 Ford front fender moldings used to make a complete grille surround, in addition to having the bullet shaved. Looking forward to seeing more. I'm thinking about using a '56 Chrysler 3 bar grille in my '52. I've seen them in Mercs but never a 52-54 Ford.
like a 56 passenger car? Never seen that, would be a different grille to fit and get to flow properly as I think a 56 is more pointed not really finished off on the ends so would need to do something on the fenders or the grille to clean it up as I dont think its wide enough to span the nose.
Thanks for pointing that out, I unintentionally omitted the part about the turn signal/park lights being moved in deeper in the grille opening to accommodate the fender chrome. HRP
I believe the 1955 or 1956 Plymouth grill is a great choice. Ask me how I know these model grills are similar but not the same. I have a choice of parts for sale.
@Rand Man Are you saying you have a 55 Plymouth grill for sale? If so message me, i've been looking for one.
I have decided to have a custom grille made by Glory Grilles, he has been doing grilles for customs since 71. His design or yours. He builds them and then has them chromed. Yea guys real chrome.
Well guys and gals I just received my chromed steel tube custom made to boltnin grille from Glory Grilles. This is the final piece to complete my 54. What great workmanship and comes with all mounting hardware. Will install next week and post pictures. This is your go to grille guy.
