These were taken in Newbury, NH. That much I know for a fact. Anybody have any ideas on the car and trailer?
"This bus has been tailgating the hell outta me all day" That's all I got. An interesting set up, have more info? Maybe an airport or event shuttle?
Looks like the coupe was custom fitted with the gooseneck receiver. I bet that's a really high dollar rig.
Wasn't it Dick Landy who had a Dodge pickup pulling a 2-axle trailer with a Dodge Dart drag car; ALL with Cragar SS wheels? And; b-t-w; all painted the same shade of blue?
Wonder if there is any kind of load leveler to keep the front wheels on the ground; hitch looks like pretty close to axle center line?
No guesses about the car, but the trailer looks like a Curtiss Aerocar. I saw one at the Harrah's museum back in '84.
Looks close?https://www.everything-about-rving.com/when-were-the-first-fifth-wheel-trailers-built.html
Could you imagine if there was the internet back then? I can’t recall how many “you need “xxxxx” to be able to tow that rig”. As a side note, the gent in the first pic looks like he’s all business.
That Curtiss Aero car looks pretty close. All I know is the pic was taken around Lake Sunapee in NH. Thanks for links.
Those are wild. The smaller cars pulling the land yachts seems a bit risky. The below screenshot says they got the picture (looks like the same one) from coachbuilt.com, but I didn't find it.
