Check out these videos of a Kiwi Flathead powered front engine Dragster. Martin & Rea have run a best of 8.2 @ 159mph in the car which was USA built in 1969. They run on alcohol only - no nitro. They're building a new car & combo that will take a dose of Nitro. Currently on their way back from Bonneville where they reset their record with a best of 192mph in their Flathead 34 Roadster. The 2nd video is up against the Dore/Slater SBC front engine car. Although the camera is focused on the Dore car ,watch the foreground as Martin & Rea go past the camera with the front wheels 5 feet in the air!
Press pause and then use the horizontal slide bar to control the speed to see how high the car was..... And imagine how the cameraman felt - WTF was that????? Noddy P.S Oh - and they won THAT race! Flathead's rule......
i had seen a still pic of the Martin & Rea wheelstand on that race but never the Vid ....Yip the camerperson would have been thinking WTF.......the new Rig will be a blast to see and hear
