Owned since 1966 when I was 14. It was time. What's the longest that others have owned a vehicle before selling it?
So, are you replacing it with another HAMB friendly car? Longest vehicle I've ever owned is 10 years, a '40 Ford p/u. I get bored, and quite often something else comes up I want, so something gets sold.
My problem is that I like too many different old cars. That has made for short-lived times owning many since I am also not typically in a position to own more than one decent car at a time. That said, I am just now at 11 years with my 56 which is a record for me... Hope the 38 went to someone that will enjoy it like you have.
Since you were 14? Wow. This is poignant to say the least. And Henrietta is a very cool truck. Much respect and all the best to you and your cool old pickup.
...Wow, that had to be a tough decision, but like you said, there's a time for everything. Hopefully the new owner enjoys it and keeps it as long as you did.......Don.
A guy gave me a 1939 Ford pickup in 1962 and I hope to wear it out someday but it will probably outlast me.
Wow, that's along time 56 years ownership! Sounds like you are emotionally ready to let it go, so good for you.
Tough decision always. Sold our 57 fuely after 39 years. Still have her 55-had for 44+ years-it's not for sale.
23 years for the coupe. Found something else that I’m in love with so it’s time to go. Check it out in the cars for sale thread. Snowman ⛄️
Owned this one for 20 years. No where near what it was when I bought it. Still lives in the neighborhood.
had my 29 cabriolet since 1959, maybe 1958, 64 years, mol. My dad bought it new, October 1929, and I will send it on to a son or grandson when I pass.
I had the '38 Ford pickup lettered as a shop truck for Drake Motor Co., the local Ford dealer from 1928-56, phone 13 was the actual phone number in the '30s and '40s. Small block Chevy was thinly disguised as the rare Ford experimental OHV engine. Had a lot of fun with that truck. Hope to eventually get some work done on Ozelle the '55 Ford that my parents bought new, learned to drive on that car. 272 and 3 on the tree. The guy who bought Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup plans to pull the SBC and T-5 5 speed and swap in a 302 Ford and C4 automatic.
I sold a 67 f100 I’ve been driving for probably 6 years. drove great. Had a 302 I built with my dad and uncle in 1988. im building a 51cj with my youngest. I’ve told him when it’s time to sell, sell it. It’s not the thing but the time spent with loved ones that matters.
I found it For sale again. It’s now down here in Florida. I’m extremely interested in the truck and have PM’d you. I haven’t looked under the hood, but it does still have a manual trans. Doesn’t look like a C4 found its way underneath yet.
I got my 47 Mercury in 1967, it has a 392, my parents got the 66 Chrysler convertible in 1972. I have the 54 Ford my grandfather bought new and his 37 Ford pickup, his 1940 Farmall, the 1909 telephone he quit using in 1930. I have been driving my 57 chevy for 40 years
