Marlan Davis was the tech editor at Hot Rod Magizine where he worked from 1977 to 2019 ,, I kind of had a relationship with his body of work as someone that always wanted to know how stuff worked and less impressed with pro street Camaro's and shiny trendy stuff ,, he taught us all so much weather we realized it or not, all those black and white sketches in the back of HR showing alternator wiring and braking systems etc.. He showed a few generations of us how to do it right and safe ,, he will be missed

Sorry to hear that. His page was one of the first things I looked at every month and I often used parts of it when I was teaching.

That’s sad to hear, he carried the torch for good, solid tech at Hot Rod. Godspeed Marlan.

That's a shame. His articles were really worth reading; just a wealth of technical knowledge and a real good old link to the best days of HotRod magazine, too.

Condolences to the Davis family and friends in passing of Marlan...gone far to young it seems...40 years at Hotrod...he certainly lived his life within and influencing the culture...may he rest in peace...

Always enjoyed his articles, would often read them several times and study them. He conveyed a lot of sound, solid information in an understandable manner. RIP Marlan.

RIP. Mr.Davis. His work was really helpful. He explained how this worked, not how things the magazine wanted to sell sort of work. He was truly part of the classic days of Hot Rod
