It will be traditional, probably vinyl. Color comes after I pick paint.

  2. Hmmm . . . I'll need to think on that one.

There were several suggestions of various greens and I was thinking along the same line with the British Racing Green suggestion, but even a darker shade, leaning toward black. BTW, I believe there are two greens called British Racing Green. Not sure but I think one is Lotus and the other maybe British Leyland's version? I may be wrong on both those accounts and there might be even more versions of it.

If you look through the old hot rod magazines, you will find that a very popular color back in the day was mid fifties Buick Titian red. It is not red but a beautiful maroon color titian.jpg

I was looking up the correct spelling of Titian Red when Moriarity beat me to it. The 54 Buick color isn't Burgundy and its was very traditional on hot rods in the late 50's early 60's. But its metallic. There were different Washington Blues and the only ones I like are so dark they look black except in direct light.

It's a very tongue-in-cheek description. I think every team who called it that has their own variant. Generally it's a dark bluish green. Mostly. Sometimes.

Edit: The one most people refer to tends to be the Jaguar version which was used in the late fifties.

Funny thing about colors is,there look is like a total other color if dark or lite.
I never liked green* much, but Cuz $'s was a factor,a time I didn't do my own job in the backyard.
In 1965,I had $ 29.95 job done at a place in Miami Fl.> "Johnny an Mack,at the RR track">there adds were for "We paint any car for $19.95" but for what they called norm cars size. So next up big car*was $29.95 for a bigger car, these low end $$ paint jobs, they only let you pick one of 3 colors***{ all dark=so don't need but one coat to cover} Black,Midnite Blue or Hunter Green. My wife picked Hunter Green. I was very amazed at how great it looked. That Green was very dark, but awesome. Now I like dark green.

Yeah, maybe a nice deep green with contrasting fenders (these are black but don't look it in the photo),

    34-Ford--5_result.jpg

or maybe go Duesenberg 2-tone green?

My Coupe is a shade of green...I'm fully color blind...it looks grayish to me...and like many paints the light changes the mood dramatically in many cases...

I’ve always liked the color on Ryan Reed’s 37. 86CEACB9-841D-4A31-B364-F803EA3CB01E.jpeg There are a couple of late model, non metallic colors that lean a little more to a grayer color than this that I think would look good on a 30’s hot rod also.

I agree, but dont need to look towards late models. Check 1950 cadillac color chart as an example. :D
