What are good traditional colors for me to consider for my 34 Tudor. Since work on the Buick has basically been stymied by the weather, I've spent a few days thinking about how I'm going to build my 34. Black looks awesome but I have one black car and that is enough. They are a PITA to keep clean. Red has been "done to death". I'm going to have the original style roof insert, full fenders and likely not chopped. I prefer something non pearl or metallic.

Just looking for suggestions and, if you have a picture of a similar car in a recommended color, post it up. Thanks.

No, my wife doesn't like yellow and I don't think it looks that good on this particular car. Thanks, anyway.

Got any pictures? My Buick is blue, so I'm not inclined to paint this car blue but I'm not saying no.

  8. My wife calls yellow cars "cartoon cars", and I've gotta agree! They look like something from Looney Toons.
Medium-dark green would be good, or Dove Grey. I would suggest Burgandy, but you've already got one of those.

Look up color by year and make. The site is run by tcpglobal.com and they can mix the paint.
Look at 30's-50's colors before metallics became common.

A very deep blue that looks black until the sun hits it is a great choice, still shows the depth like black would but has a color in the sun.
Same works with maroons, very deep dark instead of orangey red.

Lot of good medium non metallic times in the old color books. Those look right. Using a metallic, pearl etc makes a stunning paint job but may not fit the era or feel for a vintage ride.

Depending on where you buy paint. Go thru their "fleet" color book.

  10. Before I shot my 36 Tudor "BLACK", I was planning on FORD Cordoba Grey. I felt that the tan type color would look sharp with a dusty kinda Orange accect color. But alas Black won out. After many Black vehicles, I swore I'd never have another, until I bought the one I'm driving daily now. Dont paint it Black. Years ago I shot my 36 Chevy truck Red with Black fenders, its now Hunter Green, no more red..maybe...GOOD LUCK.Mitch

Found it, great maroon, deep rich color, it's a PPG fleet color. I saved the details on this after @Asphalt Angel shared.

Yes for maroon. Also British Racing Green, solid, not metallic.

My grade school pals' older brother had a 65 Sunbean Tiger in BRG, one beautiful car.

Man my wife hates my yellow car too. Check out the blue hot rods thread. I’m also very impartial to blue. All other vehicles of mine are blue.

Or Dark Brunswick green. Not quite as blue as BRG.

How about Coach Maroon. It’s very dark, at first glance, in the garage, it looks Black. Put it out in the sunlight and you can see that it’s not. Really beautiful and it’s an original Ford color from the Thirties. I’ve heard other guys call it Black Cherry

Life is simple, it's either cherry red...or midnight blue

No clue. Red oxide when I got it. Doesn't matter to me.

The shade of green you’re considering IMHO would be a great choice.
