Hot Rods Any Hambers own a 1935 Fords?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Jan 20, 2022.

  1. I went to a house to make a delivery and noticed a car covered up in the driveway and on the front porch was a beautiful 1935 grille shell and radiator, the lady said the car belonged to her dad and they had just moved him in with them, She also said that the car may be for sale soon.

I gave her my number and ask her to call if they decide to sell, if I can't buy I can help find the car a new home, so with the thoughts of a potential future project rolling around in my mind, please post up those '35 Fords, coupes or sedans. HRP

Buy it Danny, everyone should have a 35 ford experience in their lifetime

  6. They haven't offered it for sale and I haven't seen it uncovered, I assumed it's a 35 because of the grille shell but the way it sits beside the house and a row of shrubs I couldn't tell if the car is a 3 or 5 window. HRP

Hey Danny, you could get the answer to all of your questions if you knock on the door. You know you want to, lol

Yes. An impulse buy just like candy at the checkout counter. Couldn't pass it up. Had to have it.

  14. One of my favorites to say the least. I did have a 36 5-window for a short time, but would love to have a 35 someday.

  15. ....They were overlooked for so many years. Everyone wanted a '36 or a '33/'34, nobody seemed to care about the lowly '35. Now, I bet most of us on here would love to have one, I know that I would.:)

Love the body style, are coupes either 3 or 5 window? I’m illiterate on cars.

I had picked this 35 up a few years back, an actual garage find.

I ended up selling the 35 here on the HAMB to a guy that lived about an hour away. A couple years after I sold it I saw a picture of it at an event down in Louisiana. 73C51871-D653-47AC-A6FB-EE05CD707D0F_1_201_a.jpeg 28CBF99D-CA18-42C5-8B65-1394F1D2FBE6_1_201_a.jpeg
It had these funky bucket seats in it. I was going to throw them on a trash pile but I thought I'd better find out what they were originally out of. Turns out a 1966 Chevelle. Ended up putting them on the bay and sold them for $560. Would have been a costly mistake on my part.

My ‘35 Slantback Sedan and my buddy Mike Meeker’s ‘35 5-Window Coupe. Mike built my sedan and is basically rebuilding that coupe. You’d be hard pressed to find someone other than Mike when it comes to knowledge of 35 and 36 Fords.

Don’t know if I qualify. Title says 35, but the clip is 36. Not sure how to tell exactly what I have. It’s a basket case whatever it is.

Yeah, 35's were overlooked just like 37's for a long time. I've always like the three window coupes. I'd take one at the right price

I saw mention that there is a difference in the lower cowl, if viewing from the side. Please don’t ask me specifics:)

I've got a friend that has a 35 coupe, I've never seen it even though we don't live very far away. He was into stock car racing (and never very successful) so spent his money there. He now has health issues so I am sure the car will sit until he is gone:( I need to go visit him. Not necessarily for the car but....my group is thinning:(

Anyone have specific information on how to ID a 36 from a 35 body tub?
