History When one flathead quits you "add" another one?

    Looks like the Ford crapped out, so they added a Cadillac with a Hydra-Matic in front of it. How did they keep the Ford crank oiled?

    only need one grease fitting, where the oil feed from the pump is?

    They probably just filled the crankcase up to the bottom of the cylinders with oil, so the crank/bearings were completely submerged.

    Doesn't look like the Ford has an oil pan; probably just lubricated with dirt like tank tracks.

  9. I'm guessing that they both were running at one time and when it was put out to pasture someone decided to strip the flathead. I love the connection between the two. Bet you couldn't wheelstand that one.

    With all the power that Caddy engine made they had to mount it like that to keep the front end down!

    That has been posted here a good number of years ago.
    Buddy tells me the Ford kept wheel standing the truck, so they needed more weight out front.
    Hahahahahaha....
