Kool to compare the original Hirohata to Jack Walkers clone. Doug Thompson did a great job with all of the small details.
He sure did, especially when you think about the fact that when Doug built the clone for Jack the original Hirohata was considered "lost" and hadn't been seen for years. It was built from old magazine articles and photos. Mr. Thompson nailed it for sure! E
Paul Bragg Build - Frank Livingston Merc in pearl aqua blue paint job by Bill Reasoner. Details per Rik Hoving . Pic taken at LeadEast Parsippany 2001 ... Award Winner
Yes sir, the flow on these fit the Merc perfectly I believe. These are difficult at best to do and make them fit the Merc correctly.
Frank Livingston's Merc was nice. Jerry Sahagon did the upholstery. Frank wasn't particularly happy with the style of it. It was a good job, just to modern for the car. From what Frank told me he dropped the car off at Jerry's, and when he went back to see it Jerry had cut the dash out of it. At that point he just let Jerry do his thing. That was a time when Jerry was doing a lot of sculpting and using heavily padded velour and Naugahyde. The interiors looked good but didn't always fit the build style of the car.
