A pair of new 1960 Ford Starliners with the 352/360 engine shown running in the Super/Stock class back in the day.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. The designation "big block" was used to differentiate between a "400" small block and a "396/402" big block. I never heard the term "big block" ever used to describe a 348/409. The term "big block" is way over used like so many others.

I've heard the 409 called the predecessor to the big block.

It's going on the Tallahassee Thorobred 62. The front off of Don's went on this car in early 67.

1963 Fairlane Thunderbolt prototype in A/FX at the '63 Indy Nationals. The car sponsored by Tasca Ford was powered by Ford's new Hi-riser 427.
