This is going into my 29 roadster. Still need a speed head and some other details. The manifold is a George Wight
of Bell Auto fame. Really excited about running a banger, this will be my first. IMG_0630.jpg

I agree, I love these cars. The banger I'm working on does not fit here but when the concept of my build came to me it did. There was no HAMB back then so there was FREEDOM. :D

Why not? @ hitchhiker's first post in this thread said any banger, Charlies second post has a Mercruiser, just dont mention your foot wide rear tires!:D:D:eek:

All we need to see is some pictures of what you have already done.

When I hear "banger" I see A or T. These little Chevys fit the HAMB as well as a small block but somehow just don't have the feel. Hope to have some new pictures soon.

I often wondered about using my old Sesco midget engine with a bunch of 26 Chev roadster parts I have to build a track roadster . I probably don't have enough time left to build the projects I have started on now , so what's there will probably end up being pieced together and sold, sometime in the future when I am motivated ...

I have a couple if '28s, a 3 port Olds head, Durant rods, and some other pieces but that is not what I'm building for my roadster. I'm building a 153 Chevy II. It will be cool in it's own way and there is a story behind it.

  12. There is a '28 or '29 roaster running around Orange County with an Olds Quad four.
Not nostalgic, but gets the job done...

@burl put a pic of his early Dodge roadster on A rails up on the Banger meet the other day, now as I understand it he has no motor in it yet? Maybe I am wrong , but I remember him discussing whether he should use a Dodge flathead 6 or a Dodge BANGER fast four that he had tucked away.
I hope he sees this and puts a few pics across here, as I think that little roadster has some things going for it! I especially like the turtle deck.

What size Blockley tires are on the rear rims? I'm thinking about putting them on my '29.

I think the Dodge 4 would be killer! It could give all the others a run for their money.

Yep ,have you seen the Montana Dodge Boys Bonneville project?

10 years ago I searched NZ for a Fast Four Dodge banger project . ( Just a motor).
There was one under my nose and I didn't know it until the owner of a B and B I stayed at regularly while on the road, told me he was selling up, and had sold his 28 Dodge roadster project . For years it was in a container on his property and he thought that as a Ford guy I wouldn't be interested. A few months later when he was about to move he told me that the new owner of the roadster didn't want or take the motors (three fast fours) and running gear , SO Bob had sent them to scrap!

Here's mine. 28AR, B block, late B crank with inserted bearings, Turlock Machine aluminum rods, 283 pistons, Brierly cam, Dan Price head and intake, full pressure oil to rods and mains, Stromberg 97's, Red headers into split exhaust. RTS 4psd. Stock rear end. Bendix front brakes, Lockeed rear. 39 column and wheel. Interior shot was the day before I drove it to TJ for upholstery. Other two shots are the first day back. Driven daily when the weather is roadster friendly. IMG_4038.jpg IMG_3872.jpg IMG_3881.jpg

I don’t mean to be critical of this beautiful sprinter... but despite what the sign says... that’s a 2 port Riley. A 4 port Riley has carbs on the other side
