I've had the 3 window in my avatar since 1980. Also have a Henry highboy roadster, project chopped highboy tudor and a new Brookville roadster just getting started. Wish I wasn't such a dum shit and could post pictures.

Yea all those 1932 Fords with Chevy engines in them. Henry would be proud!:p

  7. No hard fast rules in building hot rods, some actually use Caddy engines in Buicks. :D HRP

Well, not only just the body style, but for his persistence/insistence on introducing the 1932 one-piece cast, L Head V8...and the legacy that followed.

It is well known, but unproven, that Arkus Duntov designed the small block Chevy so it could be easily installed in a '32 Ford. A simple bell housing adapter and using the '32 V8 front motor mounts and now you have a reliable and fast Hot Rod. It fits so well. that it's hard to dismiss this rumor. LOL

Check out the bottom left of this phots. Genuine 1932 Ford forged motor mounts with minor modifications positions the sbc in the perfect place. IMG_0535.jpg

I never even dared to think that I might one day own a 1932 Ford of any kind.
Then I saw this for sale and already knew the history. Here it is when first parked in my driveway.

I bought it to go with this pickup I had lusted for for years and happened to be at the right spot at the right time in York and bought it on the spot.

I later bought this one... at York, too!! Twas just too high tech for me but it was very nice. I replaced the painted mirrors and running boards as well as the Boyds to get what you see here. I also had it upholstered after I reworked the seats for a taller fella!;):D
