A small sense of urgency has spread through the shop. I need to get the Krustom progressing faster and get my RPU done as there is now a paying customer, maybe 2, entered in to the fray. Busy is a good way to be. Cheers to an awesome 2022 if this is any indication of things to come.
Sorry for the delay in progress. Between the customer model A, and trying to get my RPU done, I came across the deal of a lifetime and now have to piece together some 3 window bodies to return my investors money.
That wasn't my trailer. That was getting it from location A to location B as the gentleman who owned it didn't want any extra visitors to his place.
The metal looks pretty solid on those diamond rings... How did you contain your eyes from jumping out of your head...
You can see a bit of his stuff from the ads in the search function. Also saved you a 9-hour round trip. And you didn`t have to load it.
I had to go to his place to pick it up. He got it that far. Came from someone else's place. I have bought lots of model A and model T stuff from him over the years. This was a bit bigger bill.
Actually she was more in awe that I got the roof of that 3 window back in to better shape and didn't cut it off and start over.
That’s quite a haul. What is the plan? Put together a few bodies to sell off and keep one for yourself? Just sell off what’s there? I sure hope you got plenty of doors with that load. Finding more of those will take you another lifetime!
I have one original frame I think I can get a title on so will likely build one to near running, I have 2 other frames to build so may make 2 more rollers, then going to stash a pile of parts for myself someday and then sell whatever is left if anything. I only have enough for 3 complete bodies and will need a pair of doors for what I keep back.
This is a great thread. I couldn't see what you just picked up but the rest shows great vision and a skill set to back it up. Thanks for sharing.
Don't know what happened to the pictures but it is bunch of 32 Ford 3 window bodies in pieces. One in the shop now going together along with the customer 31 roadster.
It has been taking up space for a year while I worked on customer cars, 32 3 window bodies etc. Time to force its way in to the schedule a few hours a week again and just get it done. Krustom may not be back on the front burner, but it is definitely off the back burner. I hope to update this a bit more often than 1 year intervals.
Is there wooden block spacers between the floor and the front seat mounting brackets? I’m asking because I found a pair under the seat brackets in my 47 . The previous owner wasn’t very tall and I’m wondering if he put the blocks there or if it’s a factory thing .
Picked up an appropriately krusty set of skirts for the Krustom. I can save the nice skirts for a future project. Still trying to figure out how much altitude correction is needed. The answer is A lot.
Blessed to have customers bringing me their dreams, but it kind of cuts in to my time for my own stuff. Leave to work an auction Friday and will be gone 10 days for that. Sometimes I think I need a clone.
I feel your pain, I ran my own custom bike shop for 3 years and the more customers I had the less and less I had time for my stuff. I ended up going back to work and this time for union company so now I have time and money but not as much time as I'd like. It's a hard path to navigate, good luck. Car looks great BTW
Had to take the rear wheels off to eyeball the future stance. Minimal, but progress is progress I guess.
