I Found this in an attic over a race shop, probably been there for 50 + years. Tring to figure out the history. Its magnesium.
Have you...say...called Crower ? Seems like the thing to do. Have the casting and part number in hand... Mike
Crower has not made this one since the 70s. The ports are stock SBC and not port matched. The throttle blades are still smooth. This one looks big as far as tubes. I'll look for some numbers on it in the morning
This is a little vague. What kind of history are you after? Crower Fuel Injection The Crower Fuel Injection Division was sold to Ron's Racing in Tucson, AZ in 1990. For information, please contact Ron's Racing at 800-513-FUEL (3835) or Ron's Email
And most of all..................Formula 5000 [Formula A] The Mackay and Crower Manifolds with Lucas Metering was the Injection of Choice
Ours has 2.5 inch butterflies ,but unported manifold that looks fairly stock sized, i have seen them with nozzles above and below the butterflies , i had a Crower pump with mine when i got it from Alkydigger, ran fine for years until pump seals went, no parts available for Crower pumps so i switched to Kinsler pump
It might not mean anything but I always wondered about Crower moving the nozzles down from their initial position. The first manifolds (Bruce intro’ed them for the BBC) had the high position and if my memory is right they moved them lower over the years. Hilborn nozzles were low, as were Pete Jackson’s and that seems like it would give a more direct shot at the intake valve. When I look at the change to the base of the unit I wonder if the casting was made to adapt something other than simple nozzles, it looks like there were bosses on the rectangular area where maybe 10-24 or 1/4-20 screws could hold something.
