Technical What's this noise on start up?

Aw nuts! I hope you feel better Lloyd! We have several guys at work out with it.

 

Sorry Lloyd, hope you get to feeling better. I've had both my shots and the booster. Never bothered me at all. So I go down to the local health dept to get a flu shot and a pneumonia shot. My arms were sore as hell for two days and I felt rotten, sore, tired and a slight fever. Crazy. I think I'll lay off the shots for awhile. Cept for bourbon maybe.

 

Sorry to hear about your illness, but I guess it also means you'll have more time to share your jocularity with us, right?

 

Ah I guess you can't avoid it forever. I've had every shot out there. But I'll try to be humorous about it

 

If you adjusted to zero lash plus 1/2 turn and let the engine set for a few hours, or overnight, it likely would have lit off instantly. With the extra 1/2 turn of pre-load it can take some extra time for the plunger in the lifter to bleed down and allow the valve to seat.

This is especially true with new lifters that are fully filled with fresh oil.

 

Everyone in my house got the shots and is now sick. Grrrrr.

Hope it's a mild case. We've avoided it so far, both shots and the booster, plus lots of steering clear of folks.

Dang @Lloyd's paint & glass. We just lost a fire fighter/rodder over here in So Cal. He stood behind his brother hood at the firehouse and didn't vaccinated. And frankly, this week has been the shit's for other car guy's I'll never see again. Please keep us in the loop. Take care Buddy.
