Awesome and plated too...I notice the Stick-man on the trunk has three legs too...

Can you imagine doing that to a steel body today...​

 

Did anyone ever try that technique on the tires? They're not helping the aero at all.

 

Learning curves...techniques to better performance resulting in gains and losses...it sure seemed quite popular...

 

@Stogy The version with flames was the only other I've seen..

 

I believe those are the same Coupe just different periods... looks like a bit of a chop came with the transition as well...

 

i wonder if using tractor body parts would be against the rules of "traditional". an 8n front on a 30s coupe might not look bad at all.

Tell us about the Split Windshield...Fabbed or otherwise and are the wires still under the Wheelcovers?

There are many instances of Tractor parts including the grills used on Vintage Hotrods but in general they don't go over very well here...are they Traditional don't think so, were they used, absolutely...

If you read the OP KoolKats Roadster is in fact sporting one...There are several other examples throughout the Thread one even on a Vintage Mag cover...

 

I may have posted this before but a few cars like this were built, I've even seen a yellow American Graffiti version in the Cars For Sale section of this website. Just by typing Bill Crowell in the search bar

 

I thought this Crowell Coupe is the same flamed Coupe that went on to see drag duty...but it seems its the Yellow one

My apologies its not very clear but you are correct that one particular builder Crowell specialized in these type of sections...The years these 32's were shown leave some pause that they may been the same coupe just moved on through new owners...

The split windshields were fabbed by a local hotrod windshield supplier, but were on the car when I purchased it, I love the look and certainly makes it unique...
I purchased the Kevin Lee wheelcovers from the Lone Star Roundup swap meet (Austin Tx) in 2017, they cover the wires, so they're still under there.
I have lurked on the HAMB for many years, I'm happy to have found a reason to post

Shaving the tread on tires was done to reduce the weight of the tires, they were shaved to a fraction of an inch of the cords. This helped the tire stay together at high speeds and helped keep the tire on the rim.

 

Old Iron I think Stan was poking fun at the Holes bored all over that Deuce Body to Lighten the load...saying they might as well do the tires while they were at it as it didn't improve ET's

Evolution is Traditional that's for sure...

Crowell, Krutzer, Fitzgibbons...That leaves Toyntons Coupe and The Drag Coupe as mysteries

Krutzers Coupe was a 3" section and Toyntons was 4"

...this one's been shared here a couple of times but not from this angle...the steering is pretty interesting, it reminds me of Isky's wheel at your belly stance...

Anyone know if this did Dry Lakes duty?...it's well shrouded much like an aircraft for minimizing wind drag...
