Yes, I've never seen that repair before. Usually they are just built up with weld and then crack again. Looks like that case has had a hard life. Good on you for fixin' it right.

 

It looks like your going to be busy for a while. It's always great that you enjoy your work. You have a talent.

 

Thanks, it was torn up for sure. The pic next to the old welded/cracked support is actually a different center that I have to fix next. On this housing it was completely blown apart and 75% missing. I figure that this is the best way to make the strongest repair, also the machining is much easier to do on the new block prior to shaping and fitting, rather than doing it on the whole housing after its welded. Its a bit of a trick to weld around the inside of the pinion gear tooth chamber though! That last pic is before I pulled the pinion and fully welded the inside.

 

Exhaust work on colts coupe, battery box, rear crossmember cover, more randoms, pats 33 chop is really starting to come around, prototype for a fuel block we’ll be offering soon.

a couple coupes, making a 32 column lock work on an f1 box in an av8, fitting the gaps and fine tuning the details on pats 33, Traditional hot rod exhaust for colts coupe (we used two right side headers for some semblance of symmetry), Romeo’s 32 frame headed to paint... etc...

Working out the f1 steering on colts coupe, a he’s got one of our first fuel logs on his engine with some stainless lines too. Aged paint going down on romeos roadster chassis, custom stainless stanchions for the molded cowl and a hard chop for #169...

 

Hidden pcv port and baffle for the vintage cal custom’s on @louisb ’s jimmy engine, Sneaky peek at Brock’s supercharged sport coupe coming together, and some axle work, pushing the practical limits of a 32 drop blueprinted to replace a SoCal axle for rexrods, a couple for millworks and uncle Danny...

 

Beautiful work on those axles.. Thumbs up ! Both....

 

That 40 needs some lettering. Maybe gold leaf.
