Technical '54 Buick tail lights

  1. I have been running '56 Buick tail lights on my Willys for 50 years. They are fantastic hot rod lights but I never see them promoted. Great feature is they use the same red lens as a '56 Chevy so no shortage of vintage plastic, just need to angle the screw holes a bit.

I had a set of '53 Buick taillights (very similar if not the same as '54) on a "T" bucket I built in the mid-'60's. I was gonna use early '50's Pontiac lights like everybody else, but they were already popular enough to command a premium price at the junkyard. The Buicks stuck out further and could be seen better from the side. They were better all around; looks and functionality).

I like mine virgin (no blue dots), though.

  3. The '53s are great too. The only difference I think is the '54 lens sticks out a bit farther. As far as the blue dots go, I have a spare set of '56 Chevy lenses without the dots in case a state trooper dumps on me!
