I'm going to be heading Fontana, CA on monday Jun 14th for an FSAE event for our Society of Automotive Engineers club at school. I was just wondering if there are any hot rod shops or anything of that nature that is within an hour or so from Fontana, since we will have a day with nothing to do on the way there. I'm open to any ideas. Thanks
do a online search for Hot Rods (or Street Rods, etc), Fontana, CA-several near by locations pop up-have fun.
check out Walton Fabrication in Upland. Ca. open 7:00am till 5:00 pm, just south by a 1 1/2 miles it Total Cost Involved, and just West of there by about 3 miles is So Cal Speed shop, check em out!
Will do, I appreciate it. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm missing Back to the Fifties for the first time since I was born, so I need something to satisfy my old car fix. I'm hoping to make it to So Cal Speed Shop open house on friday and the LA roadster show on sunday. But I'd like to go to other shop open houses if possible since competition doesn't last all day. Thanks again
our open house is on Thursday 17th 11 till ??? lunch 12-3 LimeWorks Speedshop 7717 Greenleaf Ave Whittier Ca 90602
try the kennedy brothers, i dont know if they are up for a open house but they are super cool guys, really laid back...... and normally have cool stuff in the shop
Hello Guys. Work will have me in Fontana/Rialto area the week of February 21st. Any good places a car/F100 guy could visit during downtime??
Five years ago,I visited California—-went to Mooneyes,Walden’s,Pomona drags on Sunday, ElMirage on Saturday, H & H Flatheads the Petersen Museum, and So-Cal in Pomona. The high point of the trip was receiving a 2 hour tour from Pete Chapouris—-he was so gracious and entertaining and then 2 months later passes away. Any of the places I visited in Cali were very friendly and would be on a top 10 list. Shug from Mooneyes didn’t have the time to personally walk us around but said we could “explore” any place at Mooneyes that didn’t have a locked door—-gr8 hospitality. Gr8 3 days spent in California.
Stokers Hot Rod Factory in Pomona (check out Jive Bomber's blog about them here: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/visit-the-stokers.1253160/ Also, Circle City Hot Rods, Jimmy Shines, and Cambria Speed Shops all in Orange, less than hour away from Fontana if you don't make the drive during rush hour(s).
