Looked inside and it has a Isky roller cam and what look like Crower stainless rocker arms . Also heads were ported with big valves and has 12: 1 compression . IMG_0146.JPG

That sounds like a REAL L-88 to me. That thing would be worth a fortune to the right guy! ;)

A real L-88 made 560+ hp with Hookers and a "nice" tune up with the factory installed Holley 830 cfm carb...;)

  7. My Army buddy bought an LS-7 crate engine with all it's factory paint marks still in tact

He took it apart to inspect with a day two plan in mind, he wanted to keep it as factory original as possible but did replace the rings and valve springs with factory replacements.

Day two package, Offenhauser tunnel ram with two 660's, sounded great in the video he sent.

They are still out there, NOS M/T 427SOHC. Sold by Mickey Thompson after the Bonneville program ended. A brand new Streamliner spare that was carried to the salt flats and never needed. Dyno time only from the 60s. :eek:Note the 1" thick bottom end girdle and blower support. WOW, some real history here!

426 wedge with offy tunnel.jpg Can I play? Used to be my street car. 426 Wedge with 12.5 piston and an insane Lunati cam. It pulled the wheels shifting into second. 4.89's and 14x32's when the cops weren't looking. Manual shift reverse pattern 727 and 3500 stall converter. It was insane and I loved it. Used to be able to buy 96 octane Trick Racing fuel at a station in Spring Valley. Ah, those were the days.

Any other photos of the rest of the car ? If it was a '65 or older Mopar it's legal to show on the HAMB .

VERY CAREFULLY AFTER IT'S COOLED DOWN. Also involving several cut to spec sockets and wrenches and three types of ratchets. Ask me how I know.

Or, if you're a nitwit like I was when I was a kid, you cut holes in the inner fenders to access them like I did on my 67 Barracuda!:p

Only one other picture I have that isn't a hardcopy. This was when I broke an axle racing a friend on the freeway out by El Cajon. Way past the statute of limitations :)

You could look through the trunk out the grill where the heater was supposed to be. Just enough wires under the dash for lights, ign and fuel pump.

The term SHOEHORNED IN fits here. It is a tight fit with about an 1/8 inch clearance in many places, but NO rubbing anywhere. I usually instill the help of Baby hands friends, my Bear Paws dont get much further then the top of the valve covers.:(
