I haven't been to a good swap meet in ages. Where are the macrame plant hangers and tables filled with Hot Wheels? No ladies auxiliary selling "Hot Rodder's Recipes" cook books? I miss those early Sunday mornings and running into acquaintances.
Thanks for posting pics - yes, a true swap meet is an important part of the the car world - here in California swaps & shows & other events are hanging by a thread for happening any time soon - California is putting more regulations into action limiting or stopping many types events due to the Pandemic that continues to attack - take one day at a time, and take advantage of any opportunities to go out enjoy even just a local cruise in your Hot Rod
Here's a few more someone else posted on line, It was a small swap meet , but always lots of old parts to look at and buy later kb
I went tothat one, wasn,t bad for a small swapmeet. It was better to the one I went to in Lebanon Tn last year There were venders there selling tupperware and bread
Swap meet action should pick up this year due to the new 2022 IRS regulation on reporting of online sales. https://www.investopedia.com/new-tax-ruling-side-income-5215172
26th Annual Race Productions Performance Auto Swap Meet and Car Corral Jan. 28 - 30, 2022 Appalachian Fairgrounds Gray, TN https://www.raceproductions.net/ Check out the link. Dress warm. Most of it's outside but there are a couple of large, heated buildings and the hot chocolate is really good.
With the freezing weather, there weren’t but a half dozen or so outside vendors, but the three buildings were about full. Not much vintage stuff, but I didn’t go out until noon. Getting too old for mid 20’s with single digit wind chill. Came home empty handed. Not what it used to be. They really need to change the date!
Thanks for posting those pictures. Swap meets were another thing I took for granted before Covid and I sure miss them. Some of the posts on here about plant hangers and tables of Hot Wheels on tables reminded me of years ago when my son and I were loading up to vend at a swap meet and my late wife brought out several boxes of dishes and told us to sell them. We laugh at her about selling the dishes there but when we got there and set up the dishes were the first things to sell. My son said to me that we were never gonna here the end of this when we got home.
The Kalamazoo swapmeet is back on, this weekend Feb . 4-5 at the Kzoo fairgrounds. Hopefully, the snow isn't too crazy this weekend.
