I've had my '32 3W since '82, been on the road since Father's Day '86 when I took my Dad to the LARS after promising him the first ride. Car was wrecked in '99 on the way home from the March Meet at Bakersfield and completely rebuilt including a top chop and fresh acrylic lacquer. IMG_0895.jpg

This coming August, I will have had this 55 for 50 years. It has the original 235 and Powerglide. There are 66,000 original miles. My great Aunt bought it new, and gave it to me in 72. It was built one week before my wife was born. 42528588920_e589821336_k.jpg

While it hasn't been mine for super long, it has been in my family since new, 1926 to be exact. It will be my son's when I cross over. Needless to say, he is pretty pumped.

Built my Avatar in 80's , painted it around then too. Still same paint w/ some imperfections showing. Usually driven when sun is out. 327 / 4 speed (mech. linkage back then). many fun miles. Was asked recently would it be 4 sale ? yea, $50K. he said u don't want to sell right ? right ! But, can build u one . Great to see we all are still driving our "old" hot rods. :)

I have had my Heapster since April of 1975. It was my first car. I was not quite 15 years old at the time.
My brother and I built it with a 375hp 396 chevy big block/ turbo 400 combo. first ride was in September 1978, with no functioning shifter or gas pedal. Laid on the ground to shift into drive, and a string for an accelerator. My avatar is my car parked outside my high school (Milwaukee Tech) before they tore it down.

I feel like a slacker compared to some of you guys but I've owned the Nomad for 31 years this month, driven it more than 300,000 miles in my possession.

Don't know how you guys and gals do it. I had my '33 Tudor for 26 years, but it's gone. I always wanted one of everything, and the ones I really liked, I wanted several of them. 5 53-56 F-100's, 5 62 Chevys, 2 55 Chevy hardtops, another 33, and the list goes on. But I always sold one to go to the next. But at 72 I'm finally realizing I can't have them all, so I've got one 56 big window keeper and a couple more that will go down the road to someone who appreciates them more than I. But I applaud all of you that have had the fortitude to keep your cars and bikes a long time. I just wish I would have kept the '36 Cabriolet that was given to me at 13. If I had it might have changed my life for the better.

I would but I think it is a bit modern for on here! I might do a swap video on my youtube channel jimshotrod. It was supposed to be about building my A Coupe but to be honest the price of fuel here is getting out of hand so the swap should come first !.

Bought the Thames in -81 as an over enthusiastic 25 year old with no garage, tools or money. Got it finished in 2020 and it has 3500 miles on the odometer (only two summers) 02.jpg 133.JPG

I was 12 when I first laid eyes on it, then pursued for it seemed like an eternity. But that another story.

  21. Got this is 1998 when I was 26. Almost had it half my life at this point. 216 t5. Almost sold early on as I lived in an apartment and keep getting issues from management about it and had to street park. It still has tape residue in back window from the For Sale sign I stuck there then as a reminder I almost let it go.

  22. I will celebrating 50 years of ownership of my OL 55 this year. I’ve only owned the 40 for 43 years. They both look different now.

This is my 32 about 20 years ago . Polished “ Magnesium “ American 5 Spokes . That’s about the only change , in many many years . This is a move I should have never done , looking back I should have let they go gray and not kept running my fingers raw , polishing them . 5 or 5.5 BC and 4 in front 8 in rear . I don't flip rides. I keep 'em and drive 'em. I'm only rebuilding my two trucks because I ran them into the ground as daily drivers.
