Many regrets not going to last years CCR, this was one of them. Thanks for posting the pics. I like to have seen some of the kustom work in person. @K13 you made a good point.

@Too Tall This thread was set up to see guys list of their top 20 Mercs in order. It would be kool to see more top kustom Mercury list.....

  3. I have to agree with you. You can't take away the amount of skill to pull off the work that went into the Project. I don't think I have ever seen fade away drip rails for one. The work adding sharp points on a round body had me pulling back but the taillight treatment finally made me walk off. You gotta give them credit for taking a different route. Too much Mix in the recipe for me.

I'm probably thinking of the same one Sancho, it sits on a Cougar chassis and comes from Dewey, Ok.???

This 3-dr Merc is amazing. The craftsmanship is almost flawless. With all the work done to it, you would think it would have stress cracks and chips around the door openings as well as around the hood and trunk areas. I hardly found a one. Is it on my list of top 20, no. But you have to admire the skill to build something out of the box. And the dedication it took. I have more pic`s of it but they are still on my camera.

(Actually I was referring to Jerry's green Mercury). I was reluctant to post it at first but it was taken better than I thought. If I ever have a Mercury, it would be real similar to that one. I can't really explain it but I just dig the hell out of that car.

So many beautiful Merc's, many so similar yet so different!! I really like the back end of Mick's, the way the back bumper and tail lights kinda flow into the body. But, David Posson's car just trips my trigger, like you said, can't explain it, I just dig the hell out of it!

The one with the 56 Windsor grille isn’t the Titus car with the rake that was owned by Jerry.

  12. You're right. I found this article in May 1981 Custom Rodder. Elden builds the front-end on the Chrysler grill Merc.

  13. The hood was what make me think it was the same car. The side scoops and louvers on the hood of the white smooth version are very similar to the green car's hood.

This thread popped back up on social media. Hard to believe it has been five years ago? I might need to update my top 20. Lol!

WTH, I can't believe nobody posted a pic of Ross's car! Including myself, got a new phone since I last talked to Ross in Dewey and for some odd reason I can't find the pics that I took of his Merc. Help me out Mick, Sancho, somebody!!!

Thanks Mark for posting the pics of Ross and Anna Dean's Merc. It is an awesome ride but five years ago it wasn't on my top twenty list. This is the importance of making the list. It is tough. I can already make changes to mine that I made five years ago. Lol! One big reason I hold the Merc so high is he drives the wheels off of it. Not too many Chopped, Sectioned Merc that has as many miles as this one.

Mandy Holders Merc was the inspiration for my car. The work on his car was ongoing and it became one of the best examples of what many believe to be a true Kustom.

By the way, wouldn't it be great to see Mandy's car discovered somewhere and be brought out from its hiding place? That is, assuming it was not parted or scrapped out but the thought of that happening is depressing. This car has some wild history behind it and its disappearance.

The Bob OMAN and the Bob Johnson`s So Fine Mercs both built before 1980 and both Nebraska cars chopped by Ronnie Moore. IMG_20220106_0001.jpg IMG_20220106_0003.jpg

Add Ron House`s Merc from New York with chopped down convertible top bows. With the OMAN merc in the background. The pic`s are from 82 and 2015. You just gotta love the Lincoln taillights. IMG_20200325_0001.jpg Scan0185.jpg Scan0184.jpg
