  3. Started playing guitar when i was 13. I've played every genre and rockabilly is one of my favorites, just not a big following around here. I've got to open up for some big names, and that has been the highlight of my musical career lol. Played for a living for most of my younger years. Now it's a hobby that supports my love of the Fender telecaster lol. Anybody in the area, come out to the Austin City in Corbin Ky tonight ;) they have an old Ford truck in the middle of the dance floor IMG_9172.jpg 20210205_210831.jpg

  4. Does it count that I write rockabilly music?

Has either of your bands ever played at the Heavy Rebel Weekender in Winston Salem NC? I’ve been a few times, it’s a blast.

  8. It is mostly Rockabilly but I’ve heard just about everything from country swing to an all girl AC/DC cover band. At least 4 stages on different floors going late into the night non stop for 3 days. Burlesque, street performers, cheap beer and a huge car show on Saturday. They block off a big section of the area. It’s not for everyone and I have not been in a few years but I enjoyed myself immensely.

  13. Been playing in bands since the 60s. For the last 10 years I've been playing harmonica/blues harp and occasional baritone ukulele with the Third Sunday Band. We are a "contemporary Christian band" for our church, but we also play secular music for clubs, festivals and other events. Everything from bluegrass to Celtic to 726.jpeg 20210216_152041.jpg blues with some of the best musicians I've ever played with and some of my best friends. That's me with the white hat...

HAMBer Blues4U name isn’t about the blue pickup in his avatar. He plays lead guitar in the Papa J Hudson Terraplane Blues Band here in Southern California.

Was the drummer in an AC/DC tribute for about 4 1/2 years based out of Raleigh N.C. Travelled quite a bit too! No rockabilly though.

Here's me on stage at one of the festivals in Michigan. I can't recall which, we toured that whole summer, the last one pre covid. I'm on the upright...

  25. Probably the earliest form of rock and roll. Influenced by swing, country, bluegrass, gospel and many other genres. Some say it started in the early 50s with Elvis, Carl Perkins etc. but it has its roots as far back as the 30s and was called hillbilly boogie. Seriously!

It's a genre of music, like any other. What's rock and roll? What's blues? What's calypso? What's French gypsy jazz?

Go to yt and search rockabilly, and it'll pop right up.

I'd consider early Elvis rockabilly.... Tho some may argue that.

Chit, I've been dragging an upright bass around for the last 5 years, now that SUCKS. Worse than drums imho, lol. At least drums come apart! I just switched back to being a guitar player and it's beautiful. All acoustic too, so no Amp or anything. Walk in with a guitar case, slay um, walk out. I love it.
