We found a piston ring broke and cylinder walls warn out. The cam had rust pitting and wear prob from when it was sitting for all those years so we went .30 over, new cam bearings new mains,Recon the rods, new .30 pistons polished crank, brand new Mcgurk 50's goldys old stock from speed shop cam, gear drive, new godly old stock Iskenderian solid lifters, my dad did a great job on the heads, he recon the intake valves and put new stainless valves for exsaust, new springs,surfaced the heads.

Valves are done and we put the cam in and did the bolt stretch on the ARP rod bolts

Put gear drive in and started cleaning up the new lifters they were in my dad's basement for quite some years so they have just a little surface rust on them but they are otherwise in good shape. Cleaned up the timing cover ready for the new seal.

Where did you find a McGurk Camshaft laying around?

 

My dad had it in old stock from his old speed shop and the project is on hold for the time being but soon will be at it again hopefully within the next few weeks
