Don Clarkson's Willys coupe, powered by a blown Chryser...but the blower was in the trunk, driven by a war surplus auxiliary motor, whose muffler hangs out below the car, Ran 130s, but problems led to a more conventional blower setup.

Leland Kolb's "Whiz Bang" modified roadster, Leland is the tall guy pulling on the rollbar. He later went top fuel racing with considerable success.

Chrisman & Cannon at the Nationals, '58. They ran gas that year, lost in the semis. A year later they won the '59 Smoker's meet on nitro, against Tony Waters' roadster.

Cyr and Hopper TE-440 at the '58 Nationals. They bought their unblown old dragster to the meet to sell it, hoping to win top eliminator with this newer car, But when they lost in the semis, they unloaded the old car and won top eliminator with it.

Jay Cheatham, from Sunnyvale, CA, injected Olds car at the '58 Nationals, next to the twin Chevy Howard Cam Special then driven by Glenn Ward. Jay added a Potvin blower kit to this car and competed in top gas at the '59 Smoker's meet. Tragically, he died when the car hit a marker at the top end.

I'm not sure on this one, but it might be Carl Gratz from Reno, here running a Cadillac, later an Olds.

Arizona's Buddy Sampson in the car he ran with Larry Steinegger, the big guy by the roll bar. Buddy would win the meet next year in the Sampson, Dillon, and Mudersbach Money Olds dragster.
