Posting to see if anyone has a part number or has ideas for a "modern" ignition switch (Off, assessory, start) that will fit in a stock Model A dash panel. The ones I got are too large and don't fit in the gas tank cavity. I'm using the cowl tank so cutting the tank is not an option.

If there aren't any available, I'm considering using a momentary switch under the seat riser to use as the start function.

    Thanks,

  2. I have been into Model A's since 1962 and never seen what you are looking for.

    Denis,

Thank you. I think Cole Herse (sp?) may have one that will fit. I didn't think to go to a parts store to look.

Patterg2003, I saw those this AM. I'm going to call because I want one that has start and then returns to ignition position.

Does yours have crank in the key or you still use the floor to crank ?

I use a fairly stock looking "A" dash in my 28A hotrod..
To get the room I needed, for a number of things,I gutted the inside of gas tank.
Also gutted out the back behind center "A"dash.
So room for a universal key switch 009.JPG

  11. Look up one for marine use.

Don't know if these are shallow enough.

  12. I'm going with a keyed on/off switch with a start button either on the dash or on the dash/vent panel.
