I have a pair of 9.00-15 Coker M&H Racemasters on backorder, and will continue to wait for them as long as I can. I have also found these 29-7.00-15 Drag Masters from Hoosier and while they aren’t exactly what I want (the Racemasters are) they are pretty close and are in stock. I am trying to see what they look like on a 7” wheel, and on a car. This is the only picture I’ve been able to find.
The Racemasters are $272 each The Drag Masters are $262 each I think the Hoosier tire is fairly new, and probably meant to get in on the the M&H nostalgia market. I really wish it didn’t have that ugly logo on it though, and the crazy amount of injection nubs on the sidewall is really goofy looking.
I can't think of anyone off the top of my head. (I run the exact same M&H Racemasters Eric has on order.)
Hoosier makes a very good tire,,,,and those little nubs can be trimmed really easy . It might take a little while,,,but still easy to do . A little competition might help keep Coker on its toes,,,,quality wise . Tommy
Hoosier builds a damned good tire based on years and years of racing experience. They are the "spec " tire for several different racing organizations. Their street tires are built to the same exacting specs.
I am not questioning the quality of the tire. But on an open wheeled roadster, the look is a big factor.
Anderson , Yeah your right,,,on a roadster it would be more noticeable . But,,,,would it really show all that much ? Maybe you can get the ones you want after all . Tommy
I think that is the spec tire for the SEGA Super Stock class. You might find some pictures on one of their cars.
Did you find any pictures you are looking for? I see the Hoosiers went up in price. They are now $330
All the "Super Stock" class cars run the Hoosier in the SEGA. Here is a picture of Champion Mark Hackett's car , flat hooks-up !!!
Oh I’ve had mine on order since before Christmas. Jegs has been showing “1 in stock” for a month. The last dates I was told for shipping was actually yesterday but I haven’t followed up. I should probably give them a call soon.
New date is April 29th…looking increasingly likely I’ll be trying out the Hoosiers. Actually while I didn't want pie crusts, I’m warming up to the idea and Towel City’s are even cheaper.
For something to drive on the street, and I hate to say it as I do not like the look of pie crust(has to do with the era I grew up in), you might be happier with the Towel City's.
I like pie crusts, but it just isn’t what I had in mind for this car. They’ll work just fine though, I agree. I do like the fact that its just a tubeless radial tire under it all. I think (well, I hope) that being slicks with only two grooves pretty much negates the mixing of bias and radials. The car is a death trap either way! I have canceled that backorder and will be ordering the Towel City tires as soon as the refund comes though. Oh well.
I ran Hurst cheaters and cycle tires on my old T, another no-no from many but it drove fine. You will be ok
Go see Smiley for your tires, he works in the Mesquite store. also google Smiley's Outlaw Driving School. We have been good friends since high school, he works out of the Mesquite store. Frank
