Just an update on dad, I’ve been by his side since Friday in the hospital, all his vitals are good, and it helps a ton that he had zero prior medical issues and is a non smoker. Still fighting the vivid infection in his lungs but they’re staying clear, and the antibiotics and steroids, along with the breathing therapy are helping to keep his lungs clear. He’s still eating and they’ve been able to make progress reducing his O2 supply. Still a ways to go on the road to recovery but the good news is he is going in the right direction.

I have not been vaccinated yet and neither had dad. We just kept putting it off and now regret it. I will be getting mine in about 90 days, that’s what the Drs said would be safe after recovering from covid myself, same with dad. He’s gonna get his 90 days after recovery.

He is now walking the streets of glory and worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in his new body that will never know sickness or pain or tears. He’s been my absolute best friend and the very best father o could have ever had. I will forever cherish his memory and our relationship, and will see him again in Heaven.

Thank you to all of you that have prayed for him, and for us. I pray that this trial and pain I am going through will lead me closer to God, and I pray that someone who doesn’t know Christ as their personal savior will see this and feel called and convicted to accept them as their personal savior.

    Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.

I will be taking some time off of the Anglia to regroup and figure life out without my best friend, but I do plan on finishing it in memory of him. I will probably be focusing on trying to race the 55 solo this season, and will plug along on the Anglia and update here as I have time.

I saw this mentioned elsewhere but I wasn't going to say anything before you did. I rarely comment on people I don't actually know but I've so enjoyed your build threads that I feel like I do know you. So sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear this Zak. Watching those Southeast Gassers videos always one of my favorite things was seeing your dad getting you right where you need to be in the beams. I bet your dad loved sharing his passion with you. Take care., I'll be saying a prayer for you.

As terrible as this news is, Zak, I have to say, it's lovely to see just how many people your father impacted positively. I can tell he did a good job passing his values on to you. To have you by his side, that's something not many folks have at the end. I'm sorry it had to end as soon as it did.

Though I don't know either of you, I'm thankful men like the both of you exist and that you were there for him when he needed you.

    All the best to you.

    Brent

  14. Praying for you brother. You were very blessed to have a Dad who beside being a great role model was also your best friend. He was also blessed to have a son to honor him in his passing. May the Lord give you strength in these heartbreaking times.

My condolences on your loss, may you find comfort in the knowledge that your Dad is in a better place and will suffer no more. It is great that you had such a great relationship with him and I'm certain that was something that he treasured!

So sorry for your loss. Today is my late fathers birthday, I think of him everyday. You have a wealth of memories that will keep him alive while he rests in peace. May you find peace in those memories.

Sorry for your loss. Just saw this. Have followed your builds and admire the fact that you and your father were truly close. Heal and then get back to that which you do best.

Got hooked up with a match to the other mag front wheel for the Anglia, thanks to Joe and Jeff Jacobson. Gotta get back out there and get the car finished as hard as it is. 36FF8A96-AAD1-447B-8C83-2BC557836D5B.jpeg

Sorry to hear it Zak. It sounds like your dad had a wonderful testimony, as do you. Not many have that kind of relationship with their father. I know you will cherish it.

I saw you at Reynolds but didn't get a chance to come meet you. Too bad the weather messed up Saturday. Sunday was a gorgeous racing day but too bad the Christmas tree wouldn't cooperate.

Yeah hopefully we’ll have much better luck there next year. Hate I missed ya, it was so cold Saturday I tried to stay out of the wind.
