If this kind of automotive stuff interests you, there is a great new magazine from Austria that has lots of articles about cool, weird and really rare cars. First issue just came out and it is focused in Streamlining around the world.

The only weird thing about this is that the factory didn't build it — or is there something else in the pic I'm not spotting?

"Engineer Marcel Alamagny in the late 40's France designed and built a peculiar symetrical four wheel automobile
Two wheels are on a common axle in the middle of the car, powered by a 4-cylinder Simca 569 cc engine. One wheel at the front steers and the one at the rear for stability.

"The aluminium bodywork has two identical hinged clam-shell canopies allowing entry for rear facing passengers and driver/passenger at the front.

"Of its time it was not unique with other engineers/manufacturers designing similar three and four-wheel vehicles."

How about some customizing weirdness? I picked up this '41 Plymouth "coupester" back in the '90s in a trade. A previous owner had decided that EVERYTHING should be "frenched". It was too weird for me, and immediately traded it for a Model A body.;)

Scripps-Booth eventually made more conventional cars, and were taken over by GM in 1917.

Indeed, the UDLX Comfort Tractor by MM, not high production numbers, but highly sought after today as a collector tractor !
This artwork by me, is what, a potential Model " U " Minneapolis Moline might have morphed into, had there been a need for a flying comfort tractor !

And yes, I still do have T-Shirts of this !

    Thanks from Dennis.

  28. Not just rear engined . . . but a rear engined, air cooled, HEMI!

And they do sound pretty cool. Especially after the second start-up in this video.

Be patient . . . this one has an unusual starting procedure.

There was an episode of The Simpsons where Homer discovered that he had a half brother and went to visit him. His brother owned a car company and put Homer in charge of design. Between his lack of intellect and poor taste, he was able to sink the company with the end result.
