With the Sport Coupe on it's way to Germany... it's time to get this one going. Will be fitting the subrails up initially with cleco's until later. I now better understand why Henry chose the quicker trim option on the lateral beams....but I like the idea of more support. Two bends and contour to the end tabs adds some time to each one. Drew up a template (was kinda close/waisted time) tweaked it to fit. Initially jigged up the subrail... After hours of aggravation, decided to flip over so I could work a little easier (much easier). Since the jig was able to accommodate...was no problem. Not sure the added detail (contoured end tabs) does much but I gave it a go.
I'm kinda feeling that as well.... I was at a point where I was set for the next couple of steps... the dropped subrails and the hammer formed a pillers.... I'm mixed but made momma happy to see me drop down to two project cars. Boxcar
Slow progress on the subrail. Got the lateral brace cleco's in position. Everything is square and set correctly from what I can tell. Looking for inputs on my decision to keep the cowl subrail sections unattached until I get to a point where it's been introduced to the body and I have a better idea on whether they need pulled in/out or otherwise. I'll also be adding some cleco's to the outside where the lateral members lap against the inside contour of the side subs (as in the case of the three rivets that occur at the outside threshold.)
