Hey guys! While not technically a full build, I thought I’d make a build thread of my new sedan! Picked this up about a half mile from my house for fairly cheap.

I also lucked out on a fresh and very nicely built, running/driving AV8 chassis locally as well. With the help of a buddy we knocked a lot of the heavy lifting out this week.

Instead of wasting a bunch of time getting the extra fordor body mounts off the original chassis, we just made new.

It’s got all new wood pads, bolted down, shimmed and ready to go for good. Now all that’s left is everything else!!

Cool, instant car! With 200 lightbulbs in the ceiling you probably don't have to worry about heating the shop.

Haha it’s my buddies shop. I’ll have to find out the motivation for having 14,643 light bulbs.

Wood must have been really solid in it. My pops has one but it’s basically a lump of sagging tin.

This is a Murray bodied sedan. Very little wood in it at all.

A half hour away...it's tough to beat that. I love the patina...it always amazes me how certain cars can get to that point without rust through. I guess it's mainly a regional climate thing. Keep up the good work!

Unlike all the other A Fordors the Slantwindow is all steel except for some tacking strips and the roof. This is one real quick build, like it.

Model A Ford people like to argue, but a Google search turned up 73,596 total 1931 Slantwindow sedans, that is a total of Standard and Deluxe. :)

It’s gotta be quick! We’ve got a baby coming in May and we all know how how well projects go AFTER a baby comes…. Haha

Nice! Glad to see another SW Fordor build! I decided to take the long way around and build everything from scratch on mine. They look great when you take 3 1/2 inches out of the top.

Got a few things done this weekend. This was a milestone. Got it in the chassis and tacked together where I like it. With a 3.25”column drop, I’ll be sitting pretty.

The '31 Slant Window Fordors were a built by both Murray and Briggs and all body parts will interchange between them, as both Murray and Briggs bodies are almost impossible to tell apart. They were built in the later half of 1931, and were the pre-curser to the new 1932 bodies with many of the '32 design features...and both Murray and Briggs were competing for '32 body contracts.
The bodies did use the 1930 Victoria cowl, firewall, windshield and door hinges, but from there on back, it was an all new body with steel floors and all steel body support structure.

Years ago, I saved this pic (from the internet) of a '31 Slantwindow.. I thought that would make a cool looking sedan delivery.
    upload_2022-1-23_23-18-1.png

Long story short, I bought a '31 Slantwindow body, '32ized it a little, and built one.

Here's a couple of build pics. Was going to be full fendered, but looked too cool without them;)
