HMMMM, a stock 51 Jet, according to Haggerty, has a value of somewhere in the arena of 90K. We definitely need to see pics of this build.
1951 Muntz Jets ordinarily were equipped with '51 Lincoln flatheads and GM Hydros adapted to the Lincoln, = 1000+ lbs. Gradually switched to Lincoln 317 Y-blocks in '52.
Could have been - Muntz would make revisions according to customer's wishes. Mine seems to be the only one he built with a split rear seat. I had to refabricate a center arm rest.
Lincolns of that era with the 337 flathead with optional automatic trans were equipped with GM Hydramatics in regular production. Ford/Lincoln knew a better idea when they saw it. As did Hudson, Nash, Kaiser among others. Ray
The one my brothers and I are restoring was a 331 Hemi car. Sadly the original engine was not rebuildable.
That was taken at Lotus Park (Culoma, Ca.) New Year's Morning... no snow, but it was in the upper 30's!
