When my brother and I were kids, we would run an extension cord from the welder through a hole in the floor and into the plug for the stove (we were in a basement garage). We would have to unplug the stove. This was not a problem until one Thanksgiving when we had the Irish priest over for dinner and the bird was still frozen after two or three house hours in the oven.
That is classic! I unplug the drier and plug another line that runs to the garage. At least if I forget to change the plug over all I've got is undried clothes not a hungry priest.
