Hello, I've (finally) finished my power brakes / dual master cylinder conversion and I am ready to move on to power steering. The truck has a 336ci Pontiac with a 4spd Hydro-matic and stock suspension. I couldn't find a kit for this truck so I thought I'd ask you guys for suggestions. Look for stock Bonneville or Catalina components so I can get the mounting bracketry or ...? Thoughts? Carl-
You will have to elaborate, have you done the p/s already? I used a Classic Performance Products kit on my '55. https://www.classicperform.com/Store/1960_1972_Chevy_Truck/4759PSK-S500.htm
The like-model Chevy stuff will work. There are plenty of kits. Finding/making the bracketry to get a Saginaw P pump on the 336 will be the challenge. That's probably the best pump to use.
Hi Guys, yea that was supposed to be power brakes!. Thanks for the link! My fabrication skills are weak but maybe a combination of brackets will get the Chevy parts mounted to the Pontiac engine. Carl
Maybe one of these kits https://www.classicparts.com/mobile/1955-59-Power-Steering-Box-Kit/productinfo/76-983/ With one of these GM generators
Maybe one of these? (Scroll down) (power steering brackets.) https://www.tuffstuffperformance.co...373461.1373515-1959-gmc-pm151-v8-5-5-336.html
