  6. This is the first of two IFS cars that Woody Gilmore produced. Owner/Driver Tommy "The Watchdog" Allen got drafted into the Army and sold it to the Mongoo$e who, in turn, sold it to the Anderson Bros. from Texas. They put a full body with an ugly nose piece on it and put Kenny Bernstein in the seat.

  7. I bet KB was wishing he wasn't in the seat at that moment!

The pic of Steve Woods dragging the trans blanket reminded me of why you could never find a GOOD used blanket. LOL that and they were soaked with oil.:D

Looks like it says more than Belair above that quarter trim.

  12. A blast from my past...
Fontana was where we raced and Covina Auto Dismantling was where we bought our parts back in the early sixties!

Here is a picture from @ 1972 of a car my neighbor raced at the Oswego Drag Raceway in Oswego Il. I remember riding my bicycle by his house as he was working on it along with his brother that was my age. We would help him as he was building the car. The second picture is the last remaining parts I just recently found at a barn sale this month. The original owner Karl Simpson has passed away in 1988 the car was sold before his illness and was thought to have been destroyed. There were no other parts to be found, I was able to purchase the doors, fenders and deck lid with the original 47 year old paint work.
I did return them to Karl's brother who will preserve them on his shop wall.

I think this is the first shot I have ever seen that the Wild Man has not got his arm out on the body of the car....one on the wheel and one on the shifter......or did he not drive the new car one handed.I guess it could be the point of going from shifting mode to hang on position. 20211226_021757~2.jpg

He is in for a bumpy ride, about to run over the oil pan and it don't look like the flywheel is going to clear the rear pumpkin, plus geten slippery fast, would have something to see.

It's not commonly known they did that just to make the weight class.

  25. No "shifter" on a fuel altered. I believe Willy is staging the car and that is the brake lever.
