I am looking for a parts source for my 1957 lincoln 368. I need valve seals, valve cover gaskets, and valve cover grommets. I am pretty sure most of the parts are different than the ford y block. I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

It might, I would have the heads gone through just to be on the safe side.

Blowby is usually bad piston rings, are you sure you’re having blowby?

Suggest looking into Ford truck/commercial/industrial parts as these were out of Heavy F-7/F-8 trucks from '52-'64 & used the same gasket sets & shared most internal parts. If it's worn enough to need the head work you've described, I'd STRONGLY suggest replacing the timing chain set, cam bearings, piston rings & oil pump, & at least inspect the rod/main bearings for wear. Yes, I know it sounds like a rebuild, but once you do, it'll be "good" for at least another 150K to 200K!

I like Egge for my 368 build. They are pros. Sometimes Hagen's stuff can be old. That's something you don't want in gaskets or seals. If you don't have the heads re-done with bronze guides and hardened seats you'll never know if the trouble isn't in the valve area. Makes running regular gas not an issue. Any other parts you need? I have a few. This is what I'm working on. IMG_1951 copy.JPG

I almost always try ROCK AUTO PARTS first, either under '52-'57 Lincoln or under '52-'64 Ford F-8 truck parts, then my local NAPA parts house, SEE ENTRY ABOVE, POST #9. Also check MUMMERTS.

Didn't The Rolling Bones use a Lincoln Y block in their Bonneville race car?

Best Gaskets lists individual and a complete engine gasket set for 368’s and earlier V8 Lincoln’s. I have found them top notch for gasket on my Y-Blocks and GMC 6’s.

  19. This past year Keith was running a Killer Lincoln MEL motor, it was running good till it came apart on him during a run. We were pitted with them last year, my club brother Dustin, owns and drives the old bones racer, XFGR #532 roadster.
