  3. When they're that nice and original, I couldn't in good conscious hot rod it.... or afford it for that matter.

  4. Clean and simple. Makes you realize how gooked up we make some of our "stripped down" hot rods. KISS, keep it simple stupid

Brother! I have been beating this same drum for a while. (I made that mistake.) No need to do every neat mod. Practice restraint!!!

The number 8 plate, if they still hold the registration is worth 10x+ what the car is worth.

People have paid crazy money for low digit plate numbers in CT.

these are great looking cars from stock. It’s no wonder the ‘32 roadster has become the most iconic hot rod

I would almost hate to find something like that just because I couldn't bring myself hot rod it. Almost.

    Amazing.
But somebody didn't know what they were doing and mounted the headlights way too high.

  13. Amazing!! What a time capsule.
There is/was a guy in Franklin, TN who owned a black, running, all original 32 roadster.
Bought it after many years of trying from the original owner.

What a great find! With the single digit 1934, "8" plate, the car had to belong to someone influential or in government. Single digit plates usually are given out to government officials. I know in NY, plate #1 is given to the governor. The plate is worth big bucks alone. Does he have the original top?

Second that motion! I've been hot rodding since 1955 and have seen it all. Metalflake paint jobs when they put
actual metal in the paint, trendy green colors, purple colors, rainbow colors, stripes, flames, circles...you get the
picture. Eventually they all go out of favor, and date the car. I have learned to keep it clean, simple and sanitary looking. Traditional or original has never gone out of style. Love the car!

That is amazing. It's always neat seeing the ones that have survived so long fairly untouched.

I'm 89 now, heading for 90, wish I could know the past history on mine! Brought it home in pieces in 1962. Finished first time in 1968, over 300,000 happy line chasing miles now, gave it to my son to enjoy as I did. 2009_07121962-----19680030.JPG

A pristine original '32 Roadster that has survived all these years needs to be respected and not modified. My roadster is a pieced together original with numerous patch panels and replacement parts. When I was building it my 86 year old dad asked if I was going to hot rod it, I told him just quality parts like hydraulic brakes and rebuilt suspension. He grew up in Los Angeles and stated that rod brakes worked fine when the car was built. We both laughed because times have definitely changed. I didn't feel any remorse to modifying my car because the only original parts were the frame and the cowl, the tops of the doors, the dash, the firewall and quarters. So I wasn't destroying but building a reliable car. If I could find an original like the one Jive-bomber posted I wouldn't change a thing. Hope it stays the way it is.
