Was not addressing that to you, but those who claim all sorts of incorrect things about California, and some of them even live here. Bashing California is a popular pastime among many here, who should be out working on their cars.

Bringing up fiscal issues (even totally made up ones) is their way of skirting the ban on politics on the board.

California has a larger economy than many decent-sized countries, with a smaller population than those countries. Compared to countries, we come in right behind Germany in GDP, with less than half of the population of Germany producing that.

I never said the state didn't have a surplus, I said they had a spending problem. They spend vast amounts of money, so they need income from wherever they can find it.

You can read all about the state's budget from the Legislative Analyst's Office here: https://lao.ca.gov/Publications/Report/4263 (note the discussion about the $54B budget "problem", and plans to address it.

FYI, if you think everything is peachy dandy, you might want to look into something called "Unfunded Liabilities".....

What does this have to do with hot rods or customs?

Did Jason Alexander ever play a likeable character? I always found him irritating as hell!

The nice thing about California DMV is, call the 1-800 number, sit through about 2 minutes recorded messsages and they will call you back with a live person. Just have your cell phone with you. I like it!

Or you can do a live chat. Great for confirming the a YOM plate number isn't in use at the time of the chat. Perfect if you're selling a plate. You have written verification that the plate is available as of that date. No guarentee that it won't be applied for by someone else in the near future

I am skeptical of people who answer surveys or post reviews online.

What I've found in Maryland is when they open the doors in the morning the line backs up to a certain point and stays there all day. If you go in 10 or 15 minutes before closing time they come out of the woodwork and you are out of there in 15 minutes.
