Used to be a place in Dallas that built replica's of the GS, and I heard they would sell bodies--but much gold would be needed to get one.
My FiL was Named Bob Adams. He bought the GS at daytona in 1969,he raced it a few years and then parked it in a small garage in Daytona. He got wind of a GS reunion being held in Sebring Fl and he dug the old girl out and trailered her down. Duntov was on hand and he and Bob became good friends. Bob had a photo album with pics from when his can was built new,and Bob and car were on the cover page of some car mag. Bob had T shirts printed of the GC reunion and i still have one. My BiL had the photo album for a long time, but who knows where it is today.
This is Wintersteen's roadster that I took the slide of at the Glen in '66. And if you read all the text, I also have a side of the Penske/ Donahue T70 driving thru the infield before the crash- here is that same T70, completely restored, at Sears Point a few years ago- thought I saw a ghost! Also have a slide of a newer Penske/Donahue T70, in the winner's circle at the Glen in '67 https://www.exoto.com/s/1/ProductDetails.aspx?Language=en&CategoryId=161&ProductId=1465
Gorgeous. I can't imagine messing with valve adjustments when running the weber set-up but it was likely only done prior to each race. The webers would need to be removed just to access and remove the valve covers.
That sounds like a 'Vette oughta! W.O.T. must be epic! I wonder what it sounds like with the kick stands open?
