    Ol Carl was a major winner at Palmdale Raceway for many years also. There most every weekend, at least every time that I was there, he was too.
    If I'm not mistaken, he was also a man with the flesh and blood leg on one side, along with a fiberglass leg on the other.
    He did a pretty good job in shifting that Ford too.
    Very nice guy. I was taking a few photos of his car and he walked up and asked if he could answer any questions. We talked a bit.
    All that aluminum work...was his.

    My fathers high school friends worked at Ernie Alvarados camera shop and raced his beautiful cars! I think his first competitive car was called the shutter bug...

    Any bumps and the Chevy II pan must have made sparks when climing on the brakes :eek:

    Hope he doesn't have a flat, they would be oil all over the track!!

  22. You have to wonder, why he would need a oil pan like that. I can not think of any reason for a sump that deep. It also looks ridiculous:rolleyes:.

    The 49 Olds, has 303 HP on the hood, in Stock Class, it would be 135 HP.
