I'm going to do a simple air suspension set up on my '55. Paddle switches, air over leaf and bags bolted to the original control arms. I got a healthy start on it last weekend, but with two toddlers running around I typically only get out there about once a week. Freshening up a bunch of stuff while I'm at it, and that's the stuff that really eats up the time - front/back wheel bearing, brakes, all frontend bushings were rotted, new brake lines, ball joints, and gonna throw a brake booster on it as well.

I hope to get the side glass replaced in the '53 Ford and lower it as well. Once that is done I can work on getting some more interior pieces in place. Should be set for Spring/Summer season cruise-in and shows if I can get those things done.

For the '40 who knows. I may redo the brake system. I'm not liking the front disk conversion. Think i'll go with the f1 drum setup instead. Was planning on new tires, but may need to wait since nobody has much stock right now.

If my bonus is good this year I may get started on building a new shop. The garage is getting way too crowded.

  8. Went for a ride to to look 65DD1784-D75E-403B-BEE1-453924F69A8B.jpeg at another project. Only NY has not been kind to this girl and too far gone to be saved. Has not moved in years everything rust/welded shut, all the hinges frozen solid.
Sad to see this one fall apart.
Owner had unrealistic value in his head on this.

Well it's technically still winter, and I've got a laundry list of things to do... done by spring? Ha-ha... we'll see. The coupe is alive & well, so the Studebaker is next to make progress on. The quad head light surrounds need to be buttoned up.
    IMG_0817_1.JPG

The right rear corner of the box got tagged before I owned it and needs to be repaired. (Read "replaced")

    IMG_0217.JPG

I'm installing a Reese hitch on it and have a loose plan for a rear bumper... and the right rear fender needs replacement as well.

So like I said; "We'll see"!

Update- Craigslist find- a 1999 350 chevy for $40. Tore it apart, inside clean and bearings and bores look good.
giving it a quick hone, new rings/ bearings and a bit more camshaft, converting to carb and hei. Will install
before the a/c unit as soon as work slows down, I retired over 2 years ago but between a few old customers and
the better half being short handed I seem to be working 5 to 6 days a week.

So far, I have been holding back because of going through the "big D", but hopefully that will be wrapped up soon. My plan is to go through the front end on my 40, add a few Weedetr components, hopefully have enough time to get the axle dropped in the process, and have it ready to drive more.
I have put 1500 to 2000 miles a year on her since I got it, but it has ridden the trailer to anything more than 100 miles away. That needs to change!

60 degrees, I keep my shop at 60 when I am working. I wear light wt. coveralls ( to stay clean) and thick northern blood. It’s warm if I am not laying under a car all day, -15 this morning so 60 feels good.

Around july of last year,my plan was too do some body fab work on 1917 Hup roadster rod ,2 doors an rear of cockpit, both simple flat, rear only takes 2 singel plan bends. I have been collecting parts for, over 6+ years! >"Hubba Hubba Hup" was my name for that build!
How ever near the end of 2021,I broke the crank in my old hot rod from High school. That's the one I normally drive most weekends an is my real fun.
So will be redoing a V8 Ford Y-block,to put in to my old rod in first 2 +months of 2022.
    I've now desided,there's no way I'm going to;[me at 80 this year],do the "Hubba Hubba Hup"perject!
So I put it up 4sale in our HAMB adds. Nearly every part for a rod build is already got,but for a rearend.

Didn't need another project, but couldn't pass up this 49 Hudson Coupe. Hope to have it road worthy in a couple months. Screenshot_20220112-181230_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20220112-181121_Gallery.jpg

Making the woody a little less leaky

I also finally took the doors apart to put the lock rods in so I can actually lock my doors.

Smack dab in the middle of a project truck on a deadline but, somehow have to find time to knock an intake manifold together - can't buy one for a Ford 300 and still eat. If I have it written down on public record it has to get done.

  25. Not sure I have done much of anything I had planned and we appear to be heading toward warmer weather already. I did get some work done on both my boys cars just trying to keep them going and fix previous owners cobbled up messes.

But, because of a good friend finding a deal on the St. Louis Craigslist last week, I did just end up with a replacement 312 and Fordomatic for my 56 that I hope to get cleaned up and swapped in soon. Wasn’t on my list, but was also thinking my car might be down this summer after the transmission lost second gear. Picking it up this time next week on my way back to Oklahoma from Indy. The seller threw in some other cool parts too which is making me consider A/C which I thought I would never do.

Was going to put a new 235 in my 37 but since I am now driving about 90 miles a day for work I can not keep the garage full in case I need to fix one of the daily drivers.

Just doing the final touch ups to this Shoebox I just got. Previous owner swapped in a 302 and a C4, but left the stock rear. I need a little more highway capability than it’s currently got. There’s a ton of ways to do it, but no simple option. I can use a Maverick rear, and it will bolt right in, but they aren’t exactly easy to find. Or swap in an 8.8 out of a Ranger, but that’s more fab work than I’m set up to handle.

After that’s done, it’s getting lowered.

Picked up a 33 four door. Will get a 265 and automatic. Was repainted in the 60's so I will go with that. It will be a 50's style ride with black and white tuck and roll.

My winter projects are limited to what the wife will allow me to do in the house without making to much of a mess or sinking up the place. I got a couple sheets of hardboard, some foam, marine vinyl and outdoor fabric. IMG_20220206_075121256.jpg IMG_20220129_165548707.jpg IMG_20220116_145724400.jpg
