Where can I get hydraulic lifters for a 1955 Pontiac 261 six cylinder? Also needed is a heater temperature control valve, any help much appreciated. Maciron9
Should be the same as the Chevrolet 235’s from the 52 powerglides up thru 1962. Check with Melling or Egge. Not sure if everything isn’t Chinese now. If the heater control valve is vacuum operated a 55-56 Ford will do. They are available. If cable operated an inline one from Vintage Air and be easily adapted.

The Canadian 261 used in Pontiac’s up here as a “ premium engine” is the same as a 235/261 used in chevies in the USA . when I built my 261 I got them along with everything else through Eggie (sp?) machine .
Howard's Cams only list mechanical, although the image appears hydraulic. No listing that I could find at Rockauto. The bottom could probably be reground at a camshaft grinding shop, and with a good dismantling and cleaning, lifters are usually fine.

All my sixes had solids, performance hyd grinds are hard to find + WHY? Kanter seems to have them, I didn't check availability though. Merry Christmas, Jim
