At the mechanics getting some brake work done after being parked up for a long time

 

didn't see anything worth while - went to where a local car was supposed to be held but, no one there - threat of a few sprinkles must be part of the reason

In driving by my old stomping grounds after high school, I came across this photo opportunity. Several projects in different stages of development. Not wanting to be on “intruder alert,” I timed my shot from my digital camera to shoot as I drove by. I have no idea who or what, other than what looks like a chopped Model A Coupe and a GMC/Chevy Truck/Suburban ready for some alterations.

Obviously, much has changed since those old days of cruising around on Coast Highway in this particular area just a few blocks from the beach. It is almost non recognizable as development takes all forms of change. The old buildings and industry from the old days is just gone. Time marches on every where, including, the old Red Dodge front end waiting its turn to get attached to a new project.

So Cal is still in some form of hot rod builds and big time projects.

 

Saw this Oldsmobile sitting in an alley in a small Chicago suburb.
Yeah, nice looking alley.

Still packing up for the move of the shop but they’re still coming in. Calibration on this 31 today. Nice job on the extended cab.

 

What about 70s wheels? Like I see kh slot mags on stuff here from time to time. Are those considered ot?

And what year did those slot mags start showing up in the world? Are those 60s or 70s?

 

If you see a really nice car with something that is OT or you think it may be , you can crop the picture to get it out of view or position the car in such a way that the offending parts are not seen, If you cannot do either, just pass on it. Always remember that billet here is akin to kicking your friends dog.

 

I would think that the excitement of seeing something we all would think of as "cool" would be worth overlooking a few OT items. After all, this is not a build thread (where that all should DEFINITELY apply).

 

Saw a huge flock of geese in "V" formation heading south. I should do the same thing. I guess I'll just hunker down in the garage for a few months.

This 64 Fairlane was in last week and I forgot to post it. Three speed with factory overdrive.
Same owner since the early 70's

Just shared a light with this '55, in Prattville Al.

 

I liked this Craigslist picture enough to save it. 'Hilltop Garage' on the door of the one on the left is cool. Ten seconds of internet research didn't yield a Hilltop Garage in Ahwahnee nor Coarsegold. $1000 firm, must take everything.
