@Spoggie, Ed left us in 2018...Hemi was adding something in Remembrance...as things move on we will be remembering one another, without a doubt...we all should enjoy our short time on Terra Firma as evidenced by the never ending wave of departures we have witnessed here...may they Rest in Peace...

Love the Artwork...question for you...how does the Artwork hung behind tie in with the Imperial?

@Jigger...yes I remember those gems from a time most of us remain forever thankful as it was hell, but there was obviously moments to dream and reflect of better times that thankfully came about...

This is a real "slice of life" image. I recently pulled out some photos of my wife driving our '69 roadster through a forest preserve taken in 1974. Your print took me back 47 years in an instant.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Here's my kustom take on the classic Christmas tree truck. It's drawn with Micron pens, Sharpie, and Posca white on toned gray paper.

I'm excited because today's my last day of work for the year. These next few days will give me some time to wrap up my last few Christmas drawing commissions. I'm not sure yet whether I'll see you all next week, so if not, Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Ripper, Spoggie! She's a real beauty, isn't she? Because you ditch half an interior and the associated power equipment, her power to weight has improved substantially. Dash details are awesome, and the steering wheel is even where I would have put it :). I dig how you incorporated the continental kit, and your treatment of the back window. Pencil tips, skirts and louvered to taste too! I am humbled and honored mate. Thanks Steve, for your all in effort, in letting me see what I would probably never see otherwise... even a stubborn jackass needs some patience and understanding once in a while .

    Hello,

I was doing some research on old panel/sedan deliveries and decided that a panel truck is not what would be in our future. Despite the size and comfort, if we converted it to be similar builds to those $100k Sprinter vans, that would be the goal. At least the panel delivery would have some Hot Rod pizazz and not just a high dollar rolling vehicle.

One of the main reasons we have always had a small sedan delivery was that while we went everywhere in any weather, it never faulted or broke down. It gave us the secure feeling of a well-built, reliable form of a cool transportation. When we drove up to a scheduled photo shoot of a hot rod, the smile on the faces of the owners was priceless. “They are one of us…” Ha! So, it was a good ice breaker, the photo shoot went along well and the rewards were good for us.

If there was a wife or girlfriend, my wife would sit and chat with them to get some facts for the story to be written from those memories, as well as a fact sheet. The fact sheet stories had the coldness of a newspaper. But, add in some build quirks or family history and the resulting finished story matched the photoshoot photographs with some character.

I found several non-Fords and Chevrolet panel deliveries. They attracted me to the design as the fenders were some of the nicest in the design aspect and not just those good old curved Ford fenders. The ones on this 1934 Hudson Panel Truck were very well designed and swoopy to make the delivery some what streamlined, while still maintaining the old style 30’s boxy Ford look.

While drawing/finishing the panel delivery and putting on the custom striping/lettering, it looked nice, but now it was a great looking surf van. Sure, it would be like our old 327 powered 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery with privacy in the back. It would be a great contrast versus the multitude of Sprinter vans rolling to those camp spots or surf beaches.

But, the absolute one thing that bothered us and kept bothering us was that night time driving was a blind proposition on the passenger side, rear, solid quarter area. We had small mirrors, but that was not enough for a clear vision of what was over there next to us. We quit driving the Ford Sedan Delivery at night to solve the problem.

Then, as we drove plenty of other places during the daylight, that blind spot began to hinder our safety and wide open vision of what was around us in our lanes or next to us. It was bothering us so much that it led to considering to trade it or sell it.

After not being able to get a safe place for our newborn inside of the sedan delivery, we sold it to another young couple. They were extremely happy and drove off like we did back in our 20s. The old 1940 sedan delivery was a two person hot rod and that was fine for the two of us for plenty of years and our adventures...

So, I started over again and made a station wagon out of the panel delivery and chopped the top slightly, so as not to make the roof stick up into the air as was the stock panel truck version. Adding in some windows made a better solution for the future. If we decide to go that route when the pandemic is over, we can go camping and or go on long road trips, again. YRMV
