Projects New One.. What Projects are you planning and doing this winter?

Any car related plans for the winter season?
I finished installing a recored radiator and decided to change the grille, engine and wheel color to black for a change.

 

Looks like I'm going to be tinkering with an old ferrin car....even though I want to get my 396 done.

Correct me if I am wrong but was the car black with red wheels at one time? HRP

 

After a rough health year I plan to get the olds 394 fitted into my 34 chassis. Also metal finishing around the poor weld job that a guy did on my 37 cowl vent.

 

Get my wife's CJ5 done and metal work on my sons 1964 C10......

Yes it was through quite of few changes over the years.

 

1940 new to me. So have been looking over PO'er build and finding some things I feel need to change. Was surprised when I pulled the new running boards to find replacement sheet metal not primed or painted where it didn't show.

 

LOL I am screwing my shovel head back together and working on an OT rod hauler.

But I do plan on tinkering some with a project of my own as well. Too much of a pile to actually mention now I am afraid.

 

Well for me this winter it's more work getting both of my A's "finished" (haha)!

Both my stocker coupe and the Tudor need little touches here and there.
Seat belts for the coupe......a new windshield frame for the Tudor.
I may paint/powder coat the coupe wheels to match the pin stripping.
I have already made new seat brackets to lower it down a couple inches in the Tudor. I was staring at the header while driving before the drop and bending down to see the stop lights. Much better now!

I don't have any choice, I've gotta add air conditioning in the Cabrio over the winter.

I know, I know, It's a convertible but the Wife HATES the top down (hair issues) and it gets really friggin' hot in there with the top up, and I don't know why.

I have already added a second layer of insulation on firewall, it has more hood side venting than original, and I even removed the inner fenders to get rid of under-hood heat...all to no avail

I really like that "skirted" version...but I'm a little bias.

Not having an enclosed shop, I don't get much done during the winter months. I do most of my work in the spring and fall months. It doesn't get as cold here as it does for a lot of you guys, so there are a few winter days that stuff gets done, but not many. Less than 60*, and it ain't happening.

Replacement driveshaft is first on the list, but I still have to get it up on the stands to do that, and right now just haven't got time to do it....

More of a hot rod style until I get tired of it. I like showing the engine but the side view looks better with the sides intact. Radiator install was a success. Not one leak. And the flatty ran at 180.

 

Just picked up a 63 Corvair last month for a winter project . It runs and drives, previous owner passed away early 2020. Needs little interior work, carbs adjusted Hopefully no big surprises

 

I'm going to be doing exactly what I said I would not be doing. However, at least this time it is not exactly my fault. I said I was going to just focus on one project, but it has snowballed into 3. I need to rebuild the garage that burnt down, which is hopefully going to finally get started this winter. And I need to get the '64 f100 4x4 I bought to help with re-equipping said garage going. But also need to get the wrecked '32 back together for spring. There will definitely be some challenges, but hopefully I can get it all done in a timely fashion. I've shared the photos of the '32 before, but it seems relevant to share them again here. And the first step on the '64 is to shorten the bed, hence the photo of the bed "mocked up" next to the truck.

Got the shaker stripped down for NHRA chassis cert this weekend, she gets just the ususal winter mainteneance this year

After a year of collecting parts, I am going to start on my HAMB friendly 40 Buick build . A build thread and pics to follow...

 

I'm hell bent on getting my 56 Golden Hawk finished , but we all know how that goes.

 

I plan to open this drawer a hundred times until my coupe's body is ready for prep and paint. Then it's onto other tools (blocks and such (I don't even own yet)) that I will need to learn as I proceed.

 

Body work on my 36 coupe as my garage is heated an insulated. we built it that way when we had the house built. Was one of the smartest ideas my wife came up with

 

Juggling several projects / to-do lists on three other vehicles. I didn't need this one added to the fleet, but I couldn't pass it up.
