On 49-51 Fords. People put the rear bumper on the front and the front bumper on the rear. Not sure on the 46-48 Fords and Mercs.
The front fits the rear almost perfectly. Now I need to figure out what to do for a front bumper or just not run one. The rear does not fit the front quite so well
I feel I am so far behind on this project but this Facebook post reminded me that a year ago I was living in a camper, had to replace the furnace in said camper, running a generator for power, borrowing water from the state forest, and just starting the footings on a new place. It has been a long year.
We do too......When I actually tackle anything that I put my mind to I do try to make it right despite the challenges but I don't set unrealistic goals or any goals other than achieve success and relish in the Milestone when it happens...It drove many of my bosses nuts but they also saw the reward...a product that was ready for inspection with little to no rework necessary...Hotrod/Custom Builders such as yourself are an element of society that we are gifted to view here through modern technology that is the HAMB...It's like a holistic drug...very addictive...

6 months ago we didn’t have a kitchen yet. We had a shop sink, toilets, a shower and called it livable. I finally hooked the heat up back in October. Tonight is just a night of personal reflection vs car progress.
That was a great turnaround, you chose your Builders well...heat is a nice option too...just in time...
I don’t want to admit how much of this was built by others vs built by me. Let’s just say my wife is a trooper and knows the construction process. Contracted vs homeowner built is a 50/50 split I think.

Canvas is from the Army surplus store. Keeping it as real as a farm kid could for a spectator lakes truck could be. Hope to build a lakes roadster of the era someday.

It should make the same HP as a hot flathead. It has a 2x2 Offenhauser intake with 81 Strombergs. 9.5:1 compression, lump ported head, 1.84/1.60 valves, 109 LSA, 0.488 lift 262 degrees duration cam, roller rockers, tri-Y header, and electronic ignition. .
Looking forward to hearing it and your reviews. Mines pretty much stock and that’s not going to cut it. Seems to be a lot of power to be made sucking it up and paying for the head work.
Jab37 you have got it going on! That 4 door carcass is a natural for some sort of travel trailer and it would appear that you have the right type of life partner that might enjoy that type of thing. Have you shown the owner of the car hoard some of your work? Buy him a new coat and take him for some show and tell, and he might let loose of some treasures.
Money on head work is always good money spent. On the other hand, your stock 153 still has 20 horse on a stock flathead v8, torque, maybe not so much.
I think it’s got the propane 10:1 pistons in it, built a header and opened up the intake. Figured I’d pull it apart and do a cam. Back and forth on pulling the bandaid off on the headwork. I’m not gonna want to take it apart later to do it but I’m a tight ass lol
